Shamrocks at Finch Rest Emporium

It's Blog Shop Week time over at Beverly's

In keeping with the week's shamrock
St. Patrick's Day theme

I am promoting several seasonal pieces

I hope you can take a look!

Please stop by Bev's linky party and check
out the others' wares as well.

For example:
Be sure to pop on over to see Dru's gorgeous
handmade paper arts for sale -
like these cards and gorgeous banner
for St. Patrick's Day
at Garden of Dreams

And if you have anything at all you wish to sell
I know Beverly would love to have you link up!
You needn't have a shop to do so!

SPREAD THE WORD!

I have had fun posting a lot of shamrock posts recently
(like my Shamrock Afternoon Tea on last post)

Would love you to check them out if you missed!

As always, thank you for your visit!

A Shamrock Afternoon Tea Luncheon

Here is a pretty tablescape all set up
 for a lovely
afternoon shamrock tea party.

I really do have a lot of shamrock china -
have been collecting it for years.

The above pic was from my last year's shamrock tea.
I love those shamrock sugar cubes and just HAD to share again
because they're all gone now. They're a deeper green than it
shows in the pic - it's pretty washed out. Sorry.

A colorful shamrock runner and scatters
of green shamrocks complete this table top
in a festive and fun way.

A green Shamrock Beanie made it front and center
as a whimsical centerpiece.

He's sitting on a small shamrock teapot.

These cute shamrock cordial glasses
are perfect to fill with green pistachio mousse
with shaved dark chocolate on top!

How perfect to eat the mousse with a little china shamrock spoon.

The hand painted china shamrock ornament
is the favor my guests get to take home.

Today the sugar bowl is just simply holding shamrock scatters.

All the green on my table doesn't match exactly -
some is lighter, some is a more yellowy green,
 some is darker........
much like Eire itself -
the land of ten thousand shades of green!

This Lefton bell matches the teapot in the background.

How nice it would be to just ring the bell for more tea,
as if I were a Crawley.  Heh heh.

These sweet linen napkins have a clover pattern on th em
but unfortunately my photog skills didn't work and one
cannot see the pattern. Oops.

Lemon cream cake with buttercream frosting
reminds me of the gold found in a pot of gold
at the end of a leprechaun's rainbow

As always, thank you for your visit!

Shamrock Shadows

I am a little late for Shadow Sunday
due to visiting my husband's family
over the weekend.

We were belatedly celebrating Mr. Finch Rest's birthday
with them and had a truly wonderful time.

The other day was so sunny and beautiful
I was able to capture a few seasonal shadows to share today.

This silk shamrock wreath/candle ring
fits rather nicely with my old Belleek candle holder.

I ♥  it has what appears to be Leprechaun Lucky Dust on it!

The shamrock welcome sign on the front door
was captured in early morning with the sun
beginning to blaze in the east.

It was a snowy cold day so I simply opened the door
and quickly snapped this pic...explaining its odd angle.

I did it fast, as I was still in jammies
and didn't want the neighbors to see me!

As always, thanks for your visit!

Have a wonderful green-filled shamrock week!

Wacky Wonderful Wordless White Wednesday!

I know many of you got hit with this storm as it swept/sweeps westward......so forgive me for sharing yet more snow.

But for those who haven't seen the likes in a while
- just so you know-
we had NO snow on the ground yesterday when I went to bed.

This is what we woke to in the backyard.

(OK, sorry, almost wordless.)

This taken from INSIDE to show the kitchen birdfeeder
- sorry about the screen in the way.

I love snow from a distance, not from touch!

Stay warm, dry and safe!

Thanks for visiting!

Shamrock Tea Cups Collection

I admit it!

I am Irish and really love shamrock china.

I have a fairly decent collection of shamrock china
I hope to share with you in the days ahead
as we draw nearer to a beloved holiday:
 St. Patrick's Day!

Today I am sharing my collection
 of fine china shamrock teacups.

Some of you may recognize them from last year
hope you don't mind my sharing them again.

The pattern below I have 6 cups and saucers
with 6 matching salad/dessert plates.

I usually stack those plates on top of either white or green
dinner or luncheon size plates when hosting
a Shamrock Tea Party ....which, sadly I am not hosting this year.

Aren't all those tiny little shamrocks just as sweet as can be
inside and all around this cute set?

The gorgeous teacup below is one
of the very first china teacups I was ever gifted -
a precious gift from my eldest daughter.

Each set it just a little different than the others.

A bit like you and me, yes?

We are all connected, go together well, serving a purpose,
but are all just a little different and uniquely made.

I wrote about the one below on my last post,
but sharing a pic of it again because it didn't seem right to have
A Shamrock Tea Cup Collection post
and not include it with the others.

It would have made it incomplete somehow
had this one not been allowed to play with the others.

: - )

These teacups are just perfect to sip
with a nice strong black tea
such as Irish Breakfast!

As always, thank you for your visit!

Have a truly wonderful week!

All About the Heart

I am not one to post family photos too often -
but today I had to share my beautiful niece
(and she is also my god daughter)
at her Middle School Science Fair Competition today!

We are so proud of her!

It was a volunteer competition
and she was only one of two
in her class who even entered.

She's an all A student who wants to be a doctor.

She's also been recently picked from just a small group of students
who get to "shadow" a surgeon at Children's Hospital.
She is very excited about this, too!

I tease her and say "Wow, all that and brains too!?"

I think she is just the prettiest young lady!

camera phone pic, sorry

She did her presentation  on The Effects of Heart Rate in Excercise.

She posted 3 different study effects while:

* Swimming
* Jogging/Running
* Spinning (stationary bike at gym)

In class she was given three different grades on:

* Oral Presentation
* Written Report
* Display Board
. She was given 100/100/100 on all three of those categories.

I blogged about her little sister not long ago, the cheerleader in competition. If you missed that one - check it out here

My sister has 4 children who are amazingly sporty and smart and really beautiful - just like my sister: Barbie and Ken. Seriously they look just like them. : - )

****************************************************

My little niece is growing up way too fast.

This is what she looked like what seemed two weeks ago!

When I look at this picture she should monitor my heart rate -

because it just makes my heart skip beats!

Way to go, sweetie!

Pretty Shamrock Teacup Gift

When I first started blogging the very first person
who took it from my merely blogging
to actually making a real friendship for me
was a sweet gal named Monica from the blog Texas Fiesta Fan!

(She collects Fiesta Ware and has an amazing collection!)

Out of the blue she sent me this INCREDIBLE shamrock teacup.

I am still stunned- not only by the beauty
 of this wonderful teacup-
but of the generous nature of Monica.

It truly is a masterpiece.

She knew I would love it and cherish it.

She knew what it would mean to me.

And she was and IS so right!

So every single year when I get out my shamrock pretties
to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style
 I shall think of Monica,
the sweet blogger who brought me such pleasure
with her unexpected random act of kindness.

If you can, please visit her blog and wish her a
Happy St.Patrick's Day!

Proudly made in the good ole US of A!

Thanks, Monica, You really are a true sweetheart.

As always, thank you for visiting!
