Flowers and Teacup Pink Saturday

Happy 7th Anniversary to
PINK SATURDAY!

My daughter moved a few months ago to the cutest little cottage house
and look what she found recently growing in her garden!

She took this pic from her camera phone -
I have never seen a more beautiful unique rose!

What a nice "house warming" gift from nature, huh?

And right now it is pink peony season around here.

Is there a sweeter flower anywhere?

And it's arrival came just in time to share
for this very special Linky Party!

Of course a pretty old teacup
with a its little lovely touch of pink
is always welcome on Pink Saturdays!

HAPPY 7th ANNIVERSARY
Pink Saturday!

(Congrats, Bev!)

Wishing for many more parties to come!

Beach Themed Tablescape

Revisiting a favorite beachy tablescape today
in honor of it being nearly summer time!

Oceans, lakes, sand, boats, sunning, surfing, swimming....

coconut oil, citronella, barbeque, pineapple drinks, fresh air....

waves, children playing, calypso steel drums....

....the many sights, sounds and scents
and the joys of the summer season....

And there isn't quite anything as pleasant to me
as casual dining in relaxed leisure
with family or friends.

I grew up on the tip of a peninsula on Lake Erie
in a resort and fishing/boating vacation area.

Memorial Day has always been
the real true beginning of summer to us.

So even though we haven't reached yet the Summer Solstice
(isn't until Father's Day- June 21st -  around lunchtime) ...

...it's hot, it's sunny, the spring flowers are spent
and the trees are full-on leafy.

To me and mine, let summer begin!

So, what plans have YOU all for your summer season?

As always, thanks for your visit!

Perfect Weather for Tea Time

Popping in to wish everyone a truly wonderful day.

The weather today is absolutely awesome-
not too hot, not too cold, not too damp, not too windy.

Perfect.....and quite rare for Ohio.

It is the perfect weather to take tea outdoors,
with you - my sweet and special friend.

There isn't a thing I'd love better right now!

The birds will be our entertainment
as we peacefully enjoy one another's delightful company.

as we have before, a time or two...........

With pretty china and flowers and fresh air and sunshine............

It is such a pleasure to revisit some of our pretty
outdoor garden tea times
we have had together over the last few years.

Tea time is so much better taken outside, is it not?

It brings one's thoughts of gentle days of  the past.

How nice it would have been to have lived in an old country manor
with acres upon acres of lovely landscape and gardens;
along with the necessary  trusted staff to help make
gardens and frequent tea parties even possible!

Do you ever get the feeling that perhaps
you were born in the wrong century?

I don't think I'd much enjoy corsets,  or not having
 indoor plumbing or modern medicine....
but I know I would have enjoyed what teatime meant
to the beautiful ladies of that era.

Of course, we may always attempt what we are able
to bring back that special few hours called tea time...
to celebrate our solidarity, celebrate our femininity,
take time to still ourselves long enough to relax
 and visit:
to listen, to learn and to CARE.

So many of us are running on a fretfully dangerous,
stressful treadmill in our lives.

It's time to step off that race for a time;
consider how nice life can be just slowing down.

Even just a little bit....as a gift to ourselves.

So for today, and frankly, for ALWAYS-
wish for you long leisurely days of quiet rest.

I bid thee well, and ask God to grant you peace.

RIP, Sweet Romeo

I lost my best friend today.

He had 4 furry paws with mittens on them.

He was my sweet Romeo Kitty.

This is my very favorite picture of him.

I'm not going to say I am ok.
I am soooo not ok.

My heart has been broken
and it will never be the same.

I am going to miss him so much.

Showing fluffy guts:

Or being curious to discover why we named
our house Finch Rest -
oh, how he loved watching those birds!

Yes, he was my true Prince.

(I married the King )

This is the earliest pic of him I could find today.

When he stretched we called him Tube Cat.

He's so tiny here! Hardly any fluffiness at all yet.

He was ALWAYS finding the highest spot to be....

This kitty stole our hearts when he was sleeping.

My office chair was his absolute favorite!

Remember he was always my Lumbar Support Kitty!?

He looks like he is in pain but he was there 24/7!

He was the best office assistant!

He always kept me company.....

Even when sometimes I didn't want him to do so!

He just had to be close by at all times.

He always knew when I had a migraine -
he'd be close by, keeping a watchful eye when I napped it off.

He was my Comforter Blankie.

(Hubs says it looks more like I was captured here, heh.)

I was captured all right - my whole heart and soul!

Or the time during a bad summer storm
when we didn't have electricity for a long while....

He was right there with me the whole time-
keeping me company, whilst I read.

Just how am I going to be able to stand
losing my favorite little shadow?

It's not easy letting go.
He was so easy to love - and to NEED.

I have to believe in the Rainbow Bridge.

I cannot imagine not being reunited with my Romeo again.

Be at peace, little furry britches.

I shall never EVER forget you or stop loving you.

Our home just won't be the same without you!

Goodbye, my dear friend, Romeo.

Parting is indeed such sweet sorrow.

"Turn him into stars and form a constellation in his image.
His face will make the heavens so beautiful that the world
will fall in love with the night and forget about the garish sun."
