Red, White, Blue....and PINK!

Happy Independence Day, everyone!

Hope your entire week has been great!

Yes, she is wearing a pink shirt....
even on a red, white and blue holiday!
 Just in case you missed my last post
 about her obsession with pink
you may find it here.

And yes, that is a Jessie doll from Toy Story in the background.

Jessie is her favorite toy - even Elsa and Hello Kitty
 have taken a back seat to Jessie.

Oh my, how she loves her Jessie!!!

The other day she was visiting just before Toy Story 4 came out
and my hubs asked her if she was excited to be seeing it...
she looked at him excitedly and then lost her little mind!
She ran around the house smiling and screaming
JESSSSSIIIIIEEEEEE at the top of her little lungs.

She is a quiet child. This was unusual behavior.

She really DID lose her mind when he asked her about it.

And she ran so fast around the house she had forgotten
 the lip transition  where hardwood meets kitchen tile
AND FELL FLAT ON HER SWEET FACE.

Now, she isn't a crier and she's really pretty tough - she looked up
 at her grandpa (she's not even three folks)  and said:

"Well, maybe freaking out about Jessie wasn't such a good idea."

We still aren't over laughing about her saying that.
She is so hilarious and so precocious!
Glad she wasn't truly hurt!

So - opening night of Toy Story 4 two weeks ago
 momma, daddy and toddler went to see it together as a family.

On the way there V was happily showing off her new
 "Tiny Baby Jessie" toy from her happy meal treat.

She outgrew her boots, so it was hot pink Wellies to the rescue!
(A cowgirl's gotta wear her boots!)

She dressed up in her rootin' tootin' cowgirl outfit for the premier.

(She won the hearts of the entire theater I am told.)

She didn't take her eyes off the screen the entire time!

So if you haven't seen Toy Story 4 yet be sure to go see it soon -
but ONLY if you've seen the other three first!

It's not our very favorite - as my grand says:
 "There just wasn't enough Jessie in it."

But it is like visiting old friends -
Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep - the whole gang was there!

We just loved it.
But no one loves Toy Story more than our grand.

I also loved the new movie "Yesterday" that's out!
It was FABULOUS!
Best movie I have seen in a long long time

As always, thanks for visiting!

Hugs and smiles!

Remembering is Honoring!

WE SHALL NEVER FORGET!

Our devastating losses....
Our unsung and honored heroes...
Our marred landmarks....
Our beloved Nation!

United We Stand, Divided We Fall!

Oh, thus be it ever when free-men shall stand
Between their loved homes and war's desolation!
Blessed with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Red White and Blues

Here are a few of my favorite pics of past posts
RED, WHITE and BLUE!

Some years we go all out -
this year our eldest daughter is in Montreal
and our youngest just returned from vacation
so she needs to just catch up and work, work, work.

And my sister who lives near me
 (who has all the children I always blog about)
 is at her lake home with her family...
plus with my boot thing on I am not feeling like
doing hosting much of anything.

                             So we're just gonna "chillax" for a change.

We're attending an evening wedding tomorrow
~~~Friday July 3rd~~~
so that keeps us home bound this year.
And we've been really looking forward to it.
I've even shared some red white and blue
from my store with Blog Shop linky party on Wednesdays.
If you haven't yet seen the series called
 JOHN ADAMS
 you have really missed something special.
It is absolutely a must see
 for those with Patriotic appreciation
 for our beloved nation's beginnings.
It's not on Netflix but it is on Amazon Prime Instant Video
if you are a Prime member. Sorry to tease you.
I wish you all a very happy,
 safe holiday weekend.
But in the midst of your traditions and merry-making,
please take a moment to remember
OUR FOUNDING FATHERS
whose blood and courage,
 along with their un-failing and un-dimming
 love of freedom and
The Flag For Which It Stands.
Love it. Honor it. Always.
Proud folks bravely died
so that it would forever wave
for all the ages to come.
We Shall NEVER Forget!
“Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes or in their offices: secretaries, business men and women, military and federal workers, moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge -- huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation.”                                                                                                             – U.S. President George W. Bush.
Regardless of the Boston Tea Party
I still drink tea.
I hope whatever you do and wherever you go
you are happy and safe.
Be sure in your busy weekend you take a moment to reflect
and give thankful prayers
to those who gave and give us our freedom.
Watching Fireworks
Last year you may remember
my crazy husband and niece/god daughter
 watched our little town's fireworks on our rooftop.
(You can revisit that post here.)
 Our town's fireworks are a week ahead of July 4th,
as we have an annual street festival.
On the last night they shoot off the festival's end fireworks.
As we live just minutes away as the crow flies
 one may watch the fireworks from the backyard....
or used to be able to, as our trees have gotten very tall.
So those two crazy brave goofy loved ones of mine
 climbed once again to our roof to watch them.
(I went into my office and safely happily read blogs.)
Here is The Blue Hour without flash
 so you can see how high up they are as they prepare
 for the Sky Eye Candy.
 It had just rained earlier so the roof was wet.
(I know they are absolutely nuts, right?)
He's holding onto her tightly but just yikes.
Adn because I insist on getting more than a few pics to choose from my goofy hubs of course has to throw up gang signs to make us laugh.
