Neutral Autumn Dining in Green

Before the blog world turns completely into Christmas and Winter
wonderland I thought I'd better share my fall tablescape!

Our fall table in green this year is something quite different for me.
I have had it like this since early September.

It has been a nice transition from summer to fall
while our temps were still high and leaves hadn't changed.

I may warm it up more now that true autumn weather has arrived.

The Pamela Gladding salad plates are a recent ebay find,
 and the "moody" grey-green napkins
were purchased a few months ago.

The wicker napkin rings are also a new-to-us find
from my favorite second-hand store after their fall season last year.

I forgot all about them stashed away in an autumn decor box.....
oh, the thrill of finding forgotten treasures! ♥

The extra tall wainscoting wall wood work
and custom framed trio of feather prints in the background
are a recent addition to our home that I haven't shared yet.

I intended on doing blog posts about each of our little home improvement changes
we have had done in the last year, but good intentions weren't enough to make it happen.

The tall natural rattan vase was found by dear tea sister Mary D.

The larger mercury pumpkin was a recent birthday gift
from my dear tea sister Karen.

It lights up at night and is such a pretty way to add a bit
of ambient lighting to that dark music area.

Our wrought iron table is fun to seasonally decorate
and is useful as a make-shift coffee/tea/drinks station
 for dinner or tea parties.

It is shallow and adds interest to the back wall without interfering
with the path area getting to and from the dining table.

I used to keep an ornate iron and glass etagiere there,
but it no longer worked once we added our new wood work.

Here is a different prospect from the foyer
of my 1959 vintage Baldwin  7 foot grand piano-
and its wee "twin" that our 3-year-old grand-girl often plays.

Yes, those are York Peppermint Patties.

I was excited to find a perfect way to display my rusty metal leaf
my eldest daughter gave to me for my birthday a few years ago.

I love having a fall birthday!

It is my favorite time of year to decorate, and to add
my beloved autumn decor birthday gifts
makes it all that much more special!

The background of the mirror reflection captures a glimpse
of the top of our tall antique china cabinet with a large ceramic
pumpkin with metal leaves, and an European-inspired
colorful autumn silk floral arrangement
 I designed many years ago.

A pretty scented candle and another color coordinated
silk floral arrangement
completes and complements the green theme this year.

I really liked taking these easy and moody darker pictures.

I have had the flu for over a week now, and couldn't find
the strength or energy  to fuss with setting up
heavy photo lights or doing much photo editing.

Hope you have enjoyed as much as I have had sharing.

As always, thank you for your visit.

Hugs and prayers.

~Michele

  4. Michele, what a gorgeous tablescape in the muted green hues. Your dining room is stunning! I was immediately drawn to the glimpse of the new woodwork, your console table and feather artwork. It's gorgeous, and your use of fall elements so tastefully done.
Having the flu for a week must've been really scary, and so early in the season. I hope you're fully recovered by now. Your Bubblegum Princess is the perfect prescription - she's adorable.

  5. Happy Belated Birthday, Michele!

Sorry that the flu bug bit...the only good thing about that is that it is going, going, gone.

Your room and tablescape are beautiful. Green is so easy on the eyes...very calming. I grinned over the comment that the narrow table didn’t interfere with getting to the dining table. I thought you were going to say the piano. Love that piano. Do you play? You must to have such a prize in your home.

Happy autumn! Hope to see you again before the holidays. 🧡

  10. Michel, your home looks absolutely lovely decorated for Autumn/Thanksgiving. I love the idea of setting a scape that lasts through fall into Thanksgiving. I did the same thing with my dining room. And, it still looks nice for the season Your wainscoting in the dining room is fabulous. I've wanted to do that for a long time but it always gets put off. The little princess is adorable. Happy November

  13. Green is a great under-pinning for any time of the year, but I'm especially glad that you've used it in the fall. Green is the color of nature for fall 2019 -- only this week have we seen colors turning.

  16. Hi Michele! Oh your fall decor is So lovely and love the muted green. I also love your newest home improvement...the panels looks so nice and makes your beautiful piano really pop! No real fall decor for me this year...we are living in out RV now that we have moved to TN. We will be moving out of our son's yard hopefully very soon, down the mountain to our building site...hopefully will get the little RV more set up just in time for some Christmas decorating. Not much room for it but I hope to have a tiny table tree, some lights and decorate a mantle a bit. So good to see a post from you and I hope you feel better soon! Hugs!

  21. Hi Michele
Your grand piano looks so beautiful on the hardwood flooring. Do you play? I inherited my father’s grand piano although one of the keys is now sticking which makes it hard to play. I love all of your autumn decorations and the wee princess is so precious. Hope you are feeling better. Take care. Karen
