Teatime with Cake and Hydrangeas

Today is so beautiful; cooler, sunny with vivid blue skies!

Thank you so much for joining me for
 teatime outdoors.

How about a yummy piece of cake leftover
from a sweet little new family member's Baptism yesterday?

My husband was asked by his brother
to be our little niece's godfather.

Here's Little Miss Happy, Lilly on her special day.

She smiles really big and often.  : - )

Father V doesn't nearly as often, lol.

But it kinda looks as though he's trying to back there!

Isn't she just a sweetie?

Sorry it's blurry- was an action shot from a few rows back with my phone.

I ♥ this very old and delicate teacup.

I think it as tea it meant to be taken, do you agree?

It's very translucent.

Here is the inside showing my finger and
showing the backstamp through the china.

I so ♥ that!

The hydrangea cuttings are from my garden
and simply placed inside a little antique teapot.

I treated one of my hydrangeas with an agent
I purchased from the garden store this year
to make them more purple - as ours are always pink.

It really worked!

Be sure to hop on over to Sandi's
Rose  Chintz Cottage

If it is pretty china and tea time you love
you won't want to miss this weekly party!

As always, thank you for visiting!

~Michele

  1. Hi Michele, Lovely! The pH you added to the soil worked. Our clay soil is so acidic our always come out pink...even when I amended the dirt. Have an extra chair? I'd love to join you for tea :)

  4. So much loveliness in one little post. I wish we still had hydrangeas around here. We didn't have a very good year for them as it was (don't know why), and ours have been gone for months. Yours are just beautiful, and made even more so with the china. Of course, the loveliest thing in the post is wearing a little bonnet and smiling.

  7. So beautiful! I had not one hydrangea this year, other than the one silk-screened on my yard flag. Sad.

  8. Oh Michele, what a sweetheart your niece is and her christening set brings back memories of our girls on their special day.
I love the teacup and your successfully altered hydrangea. Will you dry a few flowers for a dried arrangement?
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday.

  10. Your teacup is beautiful, Michele, and yes meant of Tea. My hydrangeas hasn't done good this year, maybe it's the hot weather we've had here in the south. Yours are so pretty.

What a sweet little girl! I love your blue hydrangeas; gorgeous! A pretty teacup too and I love your outdoor setting. I knew you would like my finches! We get quite a few here and they should stay for the winter as we feed them constantly. :) Thank you for sharing this joyous occasion at Tea Time and enjoy your day.

  21. Gorgeous! I love hydrangeas and yours are trying lovely. I have some blue ones I bought and planted in pots and the original blooms have long since turned pinkish. It is now starting some new blooms that started out blue and have now turned purple. I really enjoy how they change colors :). Your French cup and saucer is pretty and I really like the teapot "vase." Miss Happy is adorable.

I knew instantly that the teacup was Limoges. So many stunning patterns. What a treat to sit at your wonderful table. (Three weeks of viral bronchitis/pneumonia knocked me flat. Thanks for the good wishes!) Love visiting your nest!
