A Beautiful Winter's Day

Sometimes winter makes me awestruck.
 It can be so beautiful.

Today is no exception.

It's perfect. It's sunny. It is blue. It is white. It is amazing.

I love all the shadow play
as the sun begins to make its way,
winding around our house like a timepiece.

I just had to share this splendor!

I love winter and I love the snow!

All pics taken from inside the house - the backyard from the backdoor
and the side yard (with bird feeders) from inside a closed window.

If you look carefully
you can see a dangling hanging bird feeder to the left -
and see all the funny snow-scratch marks underneath
where the fallen seed lands and gets eaten from the ground.

I think this is so funny for some reason.

Wide, sparkling fields snow-vestured lie
Beneath a blue, unshadowed sky"
A glistening splendor crowns the woods
And bosky, whistling solitudes:
In hemlock glen and reedy mere
the tang of frost is sharp and clear;
Life has a jollity and zest.
A poignancy made manifest:
Laughter and courage have their way
At noontide of a winter's day.

As always, thank you for your visit!

  1. Winter does look spectacular in your yard Michele. I get lots of seed under the feeders too but it's not so funny when hundreds of them sprout in the spring. :-)

I never tire looking at beautiful snow covered photos. I so wish we here got more snow, we get a bout a couple of days or so if the freeze is a bad winter for us.
I love your peaceful surroundings, so on your next visit would you mind in-loading some of your snow in my yard?....thank you dearly ! :)

Thank you girl for taking the time to visit me, adding joy to my blogging days.

  7. Sounds like you are enjoying our beautiful winter day. It really was prettiest when I got up at 5am to take the dog out and everything was covered with fresh falling snow. I enjoy snow when I can stay inside and watch it, but when I have to go out to work and drive in it - not so much. Stay warm.

  10. I sure don't know anybody but you that likes winter. But then, if they're not bloggers or readers, I probably don't know them! It's pretty, yes, but with this ankle, scares me.
