Hints of Val Day Hearts Around the Nest

I am not a very whimsical/kitschy over-the-top decorator. I kinda like a holiday to just show a hint of itself now and then (Christmas excluded - THAT holiday is gloriously overdone.)

Today I am sharing a couple of sneaky heart-shapes that have worked themselves into our nest.....just a touch to remind us that the loving Feast Day of St. Valentine is fastly approaching.

This is what you will see when you walk up to our front door: a red silk heart shaped floral wreath:

Once you enter inside you will find a stoneware bisque shelf korbel shelf kinda thingie sitting high on the little wall next to the foyer.  The pineapple welcome angel is there most of the year to welcome all most guests. (haha just kidding there, family, haha.) This sweet angel was a housewarming gift from our friend Carol when we first moved into this house.  Usually what is sitting next to the angel is seasonal.

The heart wall basket has a handle, is all metal. I especially like the rusty metal smaller heart in front. The heart basket is casually stuffed with faux ivy and berry pips for a pop of color and depth.

A a rustic flat "basket" heart with dried potpourri on the mantle.

The downstairs half bath has 3 heart-shaped soaps sitting on a rusty tray on back of the commode. These French soaps are triple milled and whenever I am in there I have to pick one up and sniff it. It just smells so fresh! I just adore French soap! These sweet soaps feature a flying dove stamp holding an olive branch in its beak.......presumably saying "Peace to all who enter."

Well, um, perhaps not peace to all who enter........the bathroom......... (OK, I admit it, I am more than weird different. LOL.)

In our bedroom on my vanity on a fav painted wooden tray are two heart shaped objects. One is a vintage pink glass cologne bottle, and the other is something new to me as of yesterday. Can you spot my newest lovely?

This exquisite handmade tag was recently purchased from a wonderful fellow blogger's Etsy shop. Please visit  Abby's Paperie Garden if you get the chance, you won't be sorry you stopped by!
