Shamrock Tea Cups Collection

I admit it!

I am Irish and really love shamrock china.

I have a fairly decent collection of shamrock china
I hope to share with you in the days ahead
as we draw nearer to a beloved holiday:
 St. Patrick's Day!

Today I am sharing my collection
 of fine china shamrock teacups.

Some of you may recognize them from last year
hope you don't mind my sharing them again.

The pattern below I have 6 cups and saucers
with 6 matching salad/dessert plates.

I usually stack those plates on top of either white or green
dinner or luncheon size plates when hosting
a Shamrock Tea Party ....which, sadly I am not hosting this year.

Aren't all those tiny little shamrocks just as sweet as can be
inside and all around this cute set?

The gorgeous teacup below is one
of the very first china teacups I was ever gifted -
a precious gift from my eldest daughter.

Each set it just a little different than the others.

A bit like you and me, yes?

We are all connected, go together well, serving a purpose,
but are all just a little different and uniquely made.

I wrote about the one below on my last post,
but sharing a pic of it again because it didn't seem right to have
A Shamrock Tea Cup Collection post
and not include it with the others.

It would have made it incomplete somehow
had this one not been allowed to play with the others.

: - )

These teacups are just perfect to sip
with a nice strong black tea
such as Irish Breakfast!

As always, thank you for your visit!

Have a truly wonderful week!

~Michele

  9. Gosh I never knew that there were so many varities of shamrock tea cups about. They certainly make an Irish gal's heart sing. I've got a wee bit of Irish in me, but in March, I think I'm Irish. ☺

  12. Hello Michele
With so many shamrock teacups, is there a wee bit of Irish in you? A lovely collection that would look fabulous for tea in the garden in the summer as well.

  14. What a lovely collection you have, Michele. I really love that they are all so different, yet they go so beautifully together!

Every time I see shamrock china, it stops me in my tracks. Not being Irish myself, I don't own a single piece, but I do love it.

  31. Dear Michele,
I have not stopped thinking about your post since I saw it. I LOVE all those teacups and I hope you put them on every year for us to see. They are wonderful. With St. Patrick's Day approaching, I have been thinking of adding to my meager collection of 2 1/2 (one is a demitasse). Ha. I did notice that you don't have any Belleek. Is that because all of your others are on a white background and the Belleek are cream colored?
I think I love the one from your daughter best. They are all so lovely together though and all so sweet.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this post.
    Slainte, Ruthie

  34. Irish Breakfast tea in one of your exquisite teacups seems extra special. I love that tea, and also your teacups. The second one you showed was my favorite. What did you serve besides tea at your Shamrock tea parties?

  36. Hello Michelle,
Your Irish post today is lovely! All your cups are pretty! I love that you have all different makes of cups. I have one cup with clover on them. But then, I am not Irish like you! I pretend I am one day a year lol!
I don't think I have had Irish Breakfast tea, I must look for some.
    Hugs,

  40. Hi,
I love your shamrock collection, I had a Belleek? teacup which was given to me as a gift once, but lost it in my moving back and forth to the UK. So sad, as it was both lovely and delicate!
Please come for a visit as I posted a thank you note to you today!
And thank you so very much I really love my new dish, it's such a wonderful gift!
    Hugs! Keep warm,
    Gigi
