Beautiful Vacation Flora

We were really fortunate enough to have perfect
beautiful weather while on our cruise.

While walking around charming
 St. John, New Brunswick, Canada
 we spotted these lovely florals
showing their end-of-season beauty.

We were so surprised that the gardens
were obviously still growing strong
and so much further north than where we live!
Our garden has stopped blooming some time ago!

The entire port area of St. John is kept so beautifully.
City pride shows everywhere!
The people of St. John are some of the most warm
and friendly we've ever encountered anywhere.
I highly recommend you visit there sometime.
We've taken this exact cruise below three years in a row!
Halifax, Nova Scotia
St. John, New Brunswich
Bar Harbour, Maine
Newport, Rhode Island
back to NYC

  1. How stunning those flowers are !!!!!
I'm so happy that you had a lovely hoilday away someplace pretty. Thanks so much for those wonderful words of encouragement on my blog Michelle. You actually brought a little tear to my eye xoxoxo

  2. Beautiful flowers and you must really like this cruise! Three years in a row -- great recommendation!

    1. One of our favs- the colours of fall are amazing and the weather has always been perfect and we have never duplicated anything we've seen yet!

  3. Your photos are beautiful Michele,
    Your trip sounds fantastic.
I have always wanted to go to Canada..
I have friends that live in New Brunswick.
    thank you for sharing.

    1. You know who lives up that way is Sandi from Rose Chintz Cottage and Carolyn of Aiken House & Garden! Two of my favorite bloggers! We tried so hard to work out being able to drive up to see them but where we were docked was just a tiny bit too far and our stay there was just a little too short to work it out. We do hope to one day in the future, though it is realllllly far away from this nest!

  4. So beautiful, Michele! I feel we really missed a lot with flowers this year because of the drought and hot/humid weather. I'll be looking into flowers that can handle those conditions for next year.

  5. What a great cruise, I've always wanted to take one! Amazing that these pretty flowers are still going strong. Just beautiful!

  6. Fab photos! I repeat cruises to Alaska...just love it! Our friends just got back from a 10 day cruise that left Quebec City and ended up in NY. Haven't heard from them yet since their return yesterday. Our kids have done your itinerary and loved it. We have sailed in & out of NY and it is so special with the Statue Of Liberty. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time!

  7. If I'd known you were here, I'd have waved! My grandfather was born in St. John so I am happy to know that the people there are friendly. I've not visited since 2001. Looking forward to more photos...

  8. Beautiful! I'm glad you had great weather. Thanks for sharing.

  9. That must have been a wonderful cruise, Michele. The flowers are absolutely beautiful. I have been to Canada but not the area where you were. I enjoyed my time there very much. Glad you are back!---------- Shannon

  10. Beautiful flowers,Michele, thanks for sharing them with us.

  11. Such beautiful photos & lovely flowers! I didn't realize you had gone on a cruise. How wonderful! It sounds like my kind of cruise too. I wouldn't have to get on a plane to get there.

  12. Lots of nice flowers in St. John. It always amazes me how an area in the same growing zone can still vary with flowering time.
The ports on the cruise are awesome, no wonder you take it annually.

  13. I'm so glad you enjoyed your cruise and the flowers are beautiful.

  14. That garden looks gorgeous and as you say, amazing it's still blooming so beautifully at this time of year.

  15. Ooh, I want to go on that cruise! I've always wanted to do the northeast. It must be really wonderful for you to do it three years in a row. We've only been on two cruises, but that's one on my list. Your pics are gorgeous.

  16. Those flowers are so gorgeous!! I've never been on a cruise. So happy you had a good time. Happy Birthday, by the way!!
    Hugs, Cindy

  17. One of my dearest friends lives in St John & we've spent MANY hapPy hours there together... so pleased you have taken time to tour there!

also, so pleased to announce you're the Vineyard Worship cd Winner!
email me please with your contact info so it can be sent on it's way for your blessing... TY!

  18. Glad to hear you had a great time, and I love those flower photos! I am especially liking those pink ... dahlias, are they? The petals look like they have two tones of pink, and that is right up my alley!

  19. This is the first time I visit your blog and the post about the ports of call brought back WAVES of great memories!!! I worked for many years on cruise ships and during the summer we did that run - for several years, I never tired of the ports of call. Back then we stopped in St. Andrew's by the Sea instead of St. John's... what ship were you on?
I shall come back often, I enjoyed your beautiful photos. Warm greetings from Mexico ~

Thank you, friend, for taking the time to comment! I read each and every one of them. Your thoughts are appreciated!
