Beautiful Vacation Flora

We were really fortunate enough to have perfect
beautiful weather while on our cruise.

While walking around charming
 St. John, New Brunswick, Canada
 we spotted these lovely florals
showing their end-of-season beauty.

We were so surprised that the gardens
were obviously still growing strong
and so much further north than where we live!

Our garden has stopped blooming some time ago!

The entire port area of St. John is kept so beautifully.

City pride shows everywhere!

The people of St. John are some of the most warm
and friendly we've ever encountered anywhere.

I highly recommend you visit there sometime.

We've taken this exact cruise below three years in a row!

    1. You know who lives up that way is Sandi from Rose Chintz Cottage and Carolyn of Aiken House & Garden! Two of my favorite bloggers! We tried so hard to work out being able to drive up to see them but where we were docked was just a tiny bit too far and our stay there was just a little too short to work it out. We do hope to one day in the future, though it is realllllly far away from this nest!

  4. So beautiful, Michele! I feel we really missed a lot with flowers this year because of the drought and hot/humid weather. I'll be looking into flowers that can handle those conditions for next year.

  6. Fab photos! I repeat cruises to Alaska...just love it! Our friends just got back from a 10 day cruise that left Quebec City and ended up in NY. Haven't heard from them yet since their return yesterday. Our kids have done your itinerary and loved it. We have sailed in & out of NY and it is so special with the Statue Of Liberty. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time!

  7. If I'd known you were here, I'd have waved! My grandfather was born in St. John so I am happy to know that the people there are friendly. I've not visited since 2001. Looking forward to more photos...

  11. Such beautiful photos & lovely flowers! I didn't realize you had gone on a cruise. How wonderful! It sounds like my kind of cruise too. I wouldn't have to get on a plane to get there.

  12. Lots of nice flowers in St. John. It always amazes me how an area in the same growing zone can still vary with flowering time.
The ports on the cruise are awesome, no wonder you take it annually.

  18. Glad to hear you had a great time, and I love those flower photos! I am especially liking those pink ... dahlias, are they? The petals look like they have two tones of pink, and that is right up my alley!

  19. This is the first time I visit your blog and the post about the ports of call brought back WAVES of great memories!!! I worked for many years on cruise ships and during the summer we did that run - for several years, I never tired of the ports of call. Back then we stopped in St. Andrew's by the Sea instead of St. John's... what ship were you on?
I shall come back often, I enjoyed your beautiful photos. Warm greetings from Mexico ~
